The dynamic East Ridge Elementary School was designed to inspire the imagination of the students. It includes a modern design with a grand foyer that has enormous mountainscape murals, colored wayfinding, and welcoming open spaces. The foyer can also lock down independently at a moment’s notice, making it a safe environment for students and faculty. Native flora and fauna were used as identifiers for each grade level, with each classroom containing artwork that depicts the native elements. The design team gathered ideas from natural surroundings and implemented them into the design of the school, to generate a creative and imaginative learning space for the students.
